This one was actually pretty cool because the whole idea of bots vs real users is something you hear about but don’t really see broken down like this. Using Reddit made a lot of sense too since it’s kinda messy with both. The visuals helped show patterns pretty well. I think you guys did a good job picking a focused topic and making it feel relevant. Maybe just explain a bit more how you’re deciding what counts as a bot, and adding some more interaction would make it even better. - Vanshdeep Sidhu

Website is segmented very well so the user is able to follow along easily. The first quote of 891 million shared posts being bots is a bit vague. Does that mean all time? Just this year? I like the interactivity of clicking on graphs to view overlaps, however there is no hover effect to indicate that you can do that. The animations with which the visuals appear are engaging. Good number of visualizations throughout the site. Could add cues to indicate that a visual can be clicked on.

Nice topic and storytelling. I also liked the interactions as you scroll down the project.
Strengths:
1) consistent style throughout the site
2) engaging storytelling with scrolling effects
3) diverse visualizations used
Improvements:
1) I did not know right away that scatter plots are actually clickable to see additional interactions and text popups. Maybe add some instructions or notes about that?
3) small one - maybe make links clickable?

The topic is great and very focused making it easy to follow throughout the site. The content being framed as a case study gives really good purpose to the visualizations. Interactions and animations are clean.
I'm a little unclear about what "User Karma" is and what it tracks. Maybe provide supplementary definitions for uncommon terms.
I also could not tell whether some visualizations were clickable or not.
Love the design and how easy it is to navigate.

The chosen topic for this project was really fascinating because it’s a topic that I’ve heard lightly mentioned, but I’ve never thought to take a deeper look into it. The website design was well planned and I enjoyed the consistent colour usage (i.e. blue for humans, orange for bots) as it made it easy to navigate between visualizations. The analysis had lots of depth and went into areas that I wouldn’t have even thought about such as response timing and the emotional range of the bots’ responses. The key insights were also a good way to highlight any specific points that you wanted the user to know.
As for the scatterplot visualizations, it was a good way to look for correlations and trends, however the lack of a legend (maybe even providing a quick one at the beginning since blue and orange are used so consistently) made it a brief obstacle to figure out what everything meant. The annotations were another good way to drive your narrative, however it wasn’t made immediately clear that I had to click multiple times to see more annotations. Lastly, the colour gradient in the benchmark visualization for emotional range was a little bit confusing since even though I was able to infer what the gradient colours meant, it wasn’t explicitly clear to the user.
Well done with all of the deep dive work, it was a fun topic to explore!

I think the topic is very interesting since nowadays it's hard to discern what is real and false on the internet. Visualizations are clear and match to what a section is trying to explain. Key insights and numerical values guide me what to learn and gain. For section 7, I couldn't understand what the graph was representing until I click the graph. I would at least explain what each color means by default or tell the audience what to do to reveal the result.

Good topic and was an interesting read to learn how to better spot bots. I already knew bots were a major thing on social media platforms, but not by how much. Overall, the design was clean and navigation was simple to use.
The pie chart was a good choice to show part to whole proportion and introduce how a large part of media being posted are bots. Good use of color, red for bots and blue for humans in visualizations. Emotional Range chart could improve with more context to what the sentiment score represents. From the visualization it was hard to match if human users have a wider emotional range in comparison to the plots next to it.

I like how the navigation bar also works as a progress bar as it helps guide me through the experience. The visualizations are very easy to read, and the overall layout is consistent and cohesive. In the language patterns section, I especially liked the interactivity of the chart, where additional information is revealed as key insights when clicking around. Overall, this is a unique topic, and the interactions made the website more engaging to read.
Strengths
(1) The navigation/progress bar is effective and improves the user experience by showing progression.
(2) Visualizations are clear, readable, and well designed for understanding the data.
(3) Consistent layout and styling
Areas for Improvement
(1) Instead of displaying full-length URLs, consider embedding them as hyperlinks (ex. underlined text or buttons) for a cleaner design
(2) To improve story, you can consider showing people what Reddit posts look like from humans vs bots - incase some people are unfamiliar with the application
(3) Adding slightly more variation in visualizations could further improve engagement

I love that most if not all of your visualizations are animated.
For the box plot, it visually looks good, but might be a bit fifficult for a viewer to understand it.
Your visualizations titles were well written, helping the user have a better understand of the visualization before diving in.
All together, it's a great project. Well done guys!

The topic of this project really interested me. The visualizations, color choices, and overall presentation were very engaging. I especially liked how easy the visualizations were to interpret, and the website felt clean, balanced, and easy to navigate.

Project was framed well before getting into the actual data, providing great background information to your topic.
A lot of interesting information with data to support your points. The website is easy to navigate, with a very clear path. The animations for the visualizations are also very nice, adding to the overall experience of the user

This one is my favourite project so far, the narrative is strong and clear and the visualizations generally support it very well.
The emotional range graph is a bit hard to decipher, because there is no explanations for 'sentiment score', or what the point-marks mean, or why some are a different color than others. Scrolling through, I also didn't see that the blue bar = human easily (the text is very small too) so it was difficult to understand the point quickly. I would suggest adding more clear labels within the graph to show what the different marks mean.

Stunning site and niche topic, love it. The message is clear and all the visualizations support it. I’m also very satisfied with the experience of the site, especially the scrolling storytelling aspect.
The strengths of this project include the use of colour in aiding the hierarchy and driving the narrative by highlighting key points, in addition to the clear labels and annotations which reduce cognitive load. The animations are impressive and add to the storytelling aspect. In terms of improvement, some of the visualizations have a lot of data points and appear cluttered at times. I would consider adding filters or separating into different visualizations to avoid overwhelming the user and make it easier to read. For the topic distribution chart (the circle one), it would be great if there was a label to explain which item was which. Overall, amazing job!

The website is visually clean and consistent, and done very clear. The walkthrough and descriptions were a nice touch to telling the story.
Some strengths were the animations that were done very well. The minimal use of colour throughout the diagrams was also done well as it still was able to convey other information through other means without making it too overwhelming.
Some points to improve would be that the size or font of the texts on the graphs were a bit difficult to read. The line weight on some graphs also conflicted a small tiny bit with reading the data on top of it such as the circle post distribution graph. And I think reducing the screen size would help reduce frequent eye movement to process the data. ANd making it more oObvious where and what is interactable on the graphs.

The topic is interesting since bots vs real users is something you hear about a lot but don’t usually see broken down like this. Using Reddit was a good choice since it naturally has both mixed together. I liked the moving features too, it made the experience more engaging and kept things flowing as I moved from one graph to the next instead of static graphs.
One thing I noticed is that a lot of the content takes up the whole screen, so it feels a bit dense at times and there isn’t much white space to let things breathe. Some of the graphs also have a lot going on with many dots, which can feel like a lot at first glance, but the short text of context was great cause it made it quick to understand what was going on. Overall, it was good!!

I really like the dark, immersive aesthetic of the website it fits the "Dead Internet" theme well and feels very polished.
The content is cohesive and manages to take a fairly complex topic and break it down with clear, data-backed sections. I especially appreciated the "Bot Activity Over Time" and the "Sentiment Analysis" visualizations because they make the information much more digestible than just reading a wall of text.
For some improvements, I feel like some of the interactions are a little confusing as to what to press and what it does because I wanted to click a dot on the "Language Patterns" visualization and something else came up instead of a tooltip.
Overall, it's a very impressive project. The data is really cool and kept me engaged the whole way through.

This visual is very cool! I liked the animation and colors used; it looked professional. Reddit is a site I use from time to time, and I was able to connect with the visualization since it is what I felt as well.
I think some of the data points do nice further clarification like the total shared posts. Or is it
bot posts per year? I was not too sure when looking at it.
rtn14/23/2026, 12:32:45 AM
I really liked how you structured the story of the visualizations, every step feel like it built on the last and continued to build for the next visualization. Sometimes there felt like too much text going on throughout the website, though it didn't take away from that much since the data vis' were well made. Pointing out specific parts that you wanted the user to look at was useful since it really helps build on the story the website is telling as well. One other thing I think may need improvement is that I couldn't always tell where interactivity could happen.
